Buy a Gun With Bitcoin

Bitcoin is controversial, but what isn’t these days? Here’s something likely to get Nancy Pelosi’s drawers in a twist: Now you can use Bitcoin to buy guns. Specifically, the expensive and technologically advanced rifle systems from TrackingPoint.

As more American citizens begin to understand how much power we have given to the folks in government–and how they have abused it–there is a natural tendency to move away from government control and back towards liberty. Americans continue to realize that the corrupting nature of power is alive and well in the USA. As that trend continues, so does the tendency of folks to look elsewhere for the things they need–including money.

Bitcoin’s value has traditionally been volatile, meaning that a Bitcoin may be worth many more (or fewer) dollars tomorrow than it does today. This makes its use unattractive to the risk-averse. But for those who choose to use it, they may now order a TrackingPoint rifle system without using any dollars.

Before anyone gets excited or upset, this in no way removes the government from the gun-buying process. Background checks and FFL transfers are still in play, same as if you’d paid with Federal Reserve Notes.

TrackingPoint is a low-volume company that makes very advanced rifle systems, so they don’t expect to be making a large volume of Bitcoin sales, but they wanted to make the option available for their customers. Kudos to them.

TrackingPoint’s Precision Guided Firearm (PGF) systems are very impressive, and the way they allow non-expert shooters to accurately hit targets at 1,000 yards and beyond can be a little scary when you think of them being used by a tyrannical government. On the other hand, it could make a good equalizer in the hands of someone who hasn’t had the benefit of expensive military training (a citizen soldier, perhaps). I sincerely hope we never have to find out.

Whichever way you choose to view it, TrackingPoint’s PGF system is impressive and accurate–and you don’t need dollars to buy one.
