LOWA’s New Boots for 2015

LOWA has been around since 1923, so they know a little about making boots for outdoors enthusiasts like hunters, hikers, mountaineers, etc. They’re based in Germany, and all of their boots are made in Europe
I’ve had the pleasure of wearing a pair of LOWA Trekker boots in and out of the woods for a while now, and they’ve served me well. They fit well, are true to size, give me good support, wear well, and look good doing it. So while I was at the 2015 SHOT Show, I stopped by their booth to see what new stuff they were bringing out for 2015.
Here’s a quick rundown of LOWA’s latest:
– INNOX GTX MID TF. “Offers lightweight support with a wrapped upper on our injected PU midsole and PU MONOWRAP frame construction for stability.” Synthetic upper. Waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX lining. NXT sole for traction and durability. Colors: black or coyote (tan). Weight 920 grams / 32 ounces. Item 310 608 0999 (black), 310 608 0736 (coyote). MSRP $220
– MOUNTAIN EXPERT GTX EVO. LOWA calls this their “most versatile alpine boot for automatic crampons.” Split leather/CORDURA and microfiber upper. Offers Flex lacing, waterproof/breathable GORE-TEX lining, 200 gram PrimaLoft insulation, FlexFit/Tongue Stud, Insulate Pro Alu-Coated fleece footbed, PU midsole, Vibram Dolent sole. Climate Control System, C4 Comfort Tongue System. Color: Brown. Weight: 1760 grams / 60 ounces. Item 210 029 0485. MSRP $395
– TICAM II GTX. This replaces a former model, the TICAM GTX. They say this model has “easy ankle flex and lacing and a cuff that conforms close to the ankle combine to provide stability for slogging big loads.” Split leather and CORDURA upper, waterproof/breathable GORE-TEX lining, Balance Comfort footbed, PU with SPS midsole, VIBRAM AppTrail outsole. Climate Control, i-Lock, Tongue-stud lacing, C4 tongue and Flexfit. Color: Brown & Olive. Weight: 1640 grams / 57 ounces. Item 210 696 4545. MSRP $370
– TIBET SUPERWARM GTX FOR WOMEN. LOWA calls this their “top-of-line backpacking boot,” and their new women’s version is “made on a women’s-specific last.” Nubuck and buffalo upper with GORE-TEX Duratherm and PrimaLoft insulations. Balance footbed, PU with SPS cushion midsole, LOWA Masai Tech G3 slip-resistant outsole (crampon and snow spike compatible). Maximum ankle support. FlexFit/Tongue Stud, Balance Insole, Climate Control System, C4 Comfort Tongue System, AWP (Asymmetric Walking Position), and Spring Lace Hook System. Color: Slate.
