Dear Everybody: Concealed Carriers DO Have a Chance Against Rifle-Toting Criminals

DeSoto, Texas — So a crook reportedly walks into a Waffle House toting an AK47 rifle. He proceeds to rob the business as well as several customers before he walks outdoors, but a concealed carrier who was worried about his wife’s safety (she was in the parking lot approaching the restaurant) followed the bad guy into the parking lot.
The customer called out to the robber, who turned and pointed the rifle at him, police said. The customer then shot the robber several times.
The robbery suspect… was taken to a hospital, where he is on life support.
Police said the customer was not arrested.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to point out to all the gun-banners that someone with a concealed handgun DOES have a chance against a crook with a rifle.
Oh, and kudos to the fine citizen who ignored Waffle House’s no-gun policy, which is most likely what emboldened the crook to rob the place. Gun-free zones are favorites for bad guys because it gives them a hell of an edge over everyone else. But when good guys ignore bad rules, the tables can be turned.
