Five New Scandinavian Fixed-Blade Knives from Hultafors

Hultafors, which some of you may recognize as a lesser-known alternative to Morakniv, recently announced a number of new outdoor and survival knives. They look pretty good at first glance, and the prices don’t seem bad.

First, a little about the company and their designs:

Hultafors knives are based on classic Nordic fixed blade designs known for functional style and supreme utility. The blades feature a Scandinavian flat grind for superior sharpness, versatility and easy maintenance. Each knife blade is hardened to 58–60 HRC and sharpened in several steps with attention paid to the grinding, honing and stropping. Both handle and holster are made from super-durable polypropylene (PP) plastic, and the handle is designed to provide a safe and comfortable grip.

A dependable Swedish-designed survival knife made to dispatch any tough task. The steep front curve on the blade tip provides additional strength for puncturing and makes it easy to perform push and pull cuts for carving. The spine of the blade can be used with a fire starter.

The handle is designed to fill the hand, with a large finger guard to prevent slipping. Constructed from modified Polypropylene plastic (PP), and a Santoprene grip for long-term performance (friction actually gets better with each use). Includes a durable PP plastic sheath with a hard-wearing textile belt loop that accommodates belts up to 3 inches wide and a pocket to add a fire starter.
