Poll: Majority of Americans (Especially Democrats) Worried About a New Major War

Despite the fact that the NRA’s preferred party controls all three branches of government, now, guns sales are still up. Given that most gun sales are now driven by self-defense motives, the answer is clearly that people are scared. But scared of what?
One answer could be new major war, if this NBC poll is anything to go by:
Nearly two-thirds of Americans, divided sharply along party lines, are worried that the United States will become engaged in a major war in the next four years, according to results from the latest NBC News|SurveyMonkey poll.
A plurality, 36 percent, are very worried about the United States’ becoming engaged in a major war in the next four years, while 30 percent are somewhat worried. A quarter are not too worried, and just 8 percent are not at all worried.
Interestingly enough, though, is the fact that it’s the Democrats by far that are worried about a new war kicking off, much more so than Republicans:
While the vast majority of Democrats and Democratic-leaning Americans say they are worried (88 percent), Republicans and Republican-leaners are much less worried. About 4 in 10 say they are worried about a major war, while 60 percent say they are not worried.
Yeah, it would be the party that’s beating the “war with Russia” drum the loudest that’s the most worried about a major war. Ya think?
Recently prominent Democrat Paul Begala tried to convince the CNN audience that we need to run out right now and start WWIII by bombing the Kremlin. And no, I am not making this up, or exaggerating, or taking this out of context. Watch for yourself:
Anecdotally, at least in my own social circles, there are a lot of Dems that are tooling up in anticipation of… well, who knows, really. Maybe they fear Trump’s jackbooted thugs swooping in and forcing them to pee in the correct bathroom, or to get a job, or hear a speech they disagree with. I dunno. Whatever the reason, I think some polling would show that many on the left have gone from “nope, not interested in guns” to gun-curious in the past six months.
Me, I’m no Democrat, but I’m nonetheless worried about a major war kicking off. China, North Korea, or even ZOMG TEH RUSSIA. Keep your head on a swivel, folks. Storm’s comin’.
