SHOT 2016 Range Day: Ram’s 2016 Power Wagon is a Gun Case Shaped Like a Truck

One of the pleasant surprises of Range Day this year at SHOT was the off-road course. A number of truck makers showed up with their newest trucks, and the range had set up a pretty serious off-road track so that we could put them through their paces.
You’ll probably hear more about this from me at some point this year, because I’m planning to review some of the trucks I drove today, but I do want to give a shout-out to the Dodge Power Wagon 2016, a beast of an offroack pickup that didn’t strain when handling the steepest inclines on the course.
My favorite part of this truck, apart from the ride, was the “Ram Box” storage system pictured above. These are compartments built into the sides of the bed that can hold long guns, fishing rods, or anything else you can fit in there. Check it out, above.
There’s also some secure storage inside, where you can lock up your ammo.
I’m in the market for a truck this year, so I was glad to get to try these out. If could change one thing about this one, I’d add a diesel option. But still, it’s a pretty sweet truck-shaped gun case.
