POTD: Whitney Arms Company Wolverine Pistol 22 LR

Welcome to today’s Photo of the Day! The 1950s were always looked at as a wonderful cookie-cutter time in the then modern-America. Some may forget it was also a time where people were always fascinated by what the future would look like. Sleek, smooth, chrome, and all! Enter Whitney and his Wolverine pistol. These 22 caliber pistols are collectible as is today, but the nickel ones are highly sought after since there were reportedly only 500 made.

“Manufactured from 1955 to 1962, only around 500 of the Wolverine production run was finished in nickel. Partridge blade front and notch rear sight, with “WHITNEY” in black filled letters on the left side and the three line caliber, patent and address markings on the opposite side around the ejector port. Fitted with a serrated trigger, smooth straight spur hammer and checkered grips.”
