POTD: Star Model B-Super Semi-Automatic Pistol – The Super Star!

Welcome to today’s Photo of the Day! Since this week has already turned into a week of Star Pistols I figured I would continue the trend with the Star Model B-Super or Super B as it is sometimes called. The B model by itself was an improved A model which took 90 percent of its influence from the Colt 1911. The later iteration and improvement of the Model B was our pistol today, the B-Super. The big change is one that John Browning introduced with his own improved 1911 design that was destined to be the Browning Hi Power. The Browning Hi Power started its life off exclusively in 9mm which this one did as well but the main feature was a change in barrel mechanism. The Colt 1911 used a linked barrel whereas the Browning Hi Power used a tilting barrel much like a majority of pistols today. The Model B-Super shared this feature as well as the Sig 210!
