AllOutdoor Review – Yeti Loadout GoBox 30 Gear Case

Many outdoor enthusiasts and hunters alike are intimately familiar with Yeti for their renowned coolers. Whether it is to keep your latest lake trout cool, a trophy elk, or the celebratory drinks for either, we recognize that Yeti produces a quality product. Recently, they took that same cooler craftsmanship and imparted it onto some toolboxes – or as Yeti likes to refer to them as – a Loadout GoBox Gear Case. So, we now can keep our tools, equipment, and everyday essentials free of dust, moisture, and other elements that can compromise them or shorten their life greatly. Today, we will review one of the Yeti Loadout GoBox 30 Gear Cases to see how it performs for some of our endeavors. Let’s dive in!

Field Use – Yeti Loadout GoBox 30 Gear Case

There are a lot of reasons that people might be interested in the Yeti Loadout GoBox 30 Gear Case, but for me personally, I was in dire need of replacing my truck’s toolbox. A lot of people have similar toolboxes like mine. It has an assortment of tools to work on my vehicle in the rare event my vehicle breaks down and I need to do emergency maintenance. We’re talking socket sets, wrenches, and the like.

My inferior toolbox was a thin-walled, plastic type that was chipping and breaking under harshly cold Minnesota winters. I actually had tools falling out the side and rattling around in the bed of my truck. This not only is a complete mess, but it sent my heart rate through the roof to hear random, undiscernible noises coming from the rear of my truck while driving down the highway. That is definitely not something anybody wants to ponder or experience.

My formerly pathetic and in-need-of-replacing toolbox near the end of its life.

As Yeti mentions above – they cannot advertise their product as being indestructible – but it essentially is. So, to upgrade from my former toolbox to this brings me a lot of comfort that no amount of frigid weather is going to destroy this Yeti Loadout GoBox 30 Gear Case. It sports a carrying strap for slinging it over your shoulders, easy to grip carry handles, and equally simply to manipulate locking latches. So, even if the Minnesota cold has me losing all feeling in my fingers, I could still open and close this new toolbox.

With the intelligent storage design of the Loadout GoBox, I actually have a smaller footprint in the bed of my truck for this toolbox yet it can still hold all of my tools with room to spare. I appreciated the little divider for the middle of the toolbox so I could simply chuck wrenches and screwdrivers on one side and keep the other side more organized with socket sets and wrench sets.

I didn’t realize this at first, but there is also a rubber gasket in the lid to ensure no moisture, dirt, or other debris penetrates inside, too. That is a nice feature because a handful of tools I own are already developing rust on them from my previous, sad toolbox. So, the statement of the Yeti Loadout GoBox being Wildproof™ – dustproof and fully submersible – is absolutely true.

I also appreciated the removeable carry caddy to store things on top like my collection of ratchet straps. I am always doing squirrelly things on the weekend like hauling brush, livestock, or even a mattress for a friend, so I am continually playing with ratchet straps. To be able to segregate those on top – away from everything else in an orderly fashion – is perfect.

The final element about the Yeti Loadout GoBox I liked was the Pack Attic™ gear compartment or the inner lid storage. For more delicate tools like my level or ones that are too large and cumbersome (like my super long flathead for hard to reach places), the Pack Attic™ is the perfect place to store those items. Then, I don’t need to remove my divider to fit that long flathead and I can still bring it along with me on my adventures.

Final Thoughts – Yeti Loadout GoBox 30 Gear Case

So, what are my final thoughts on the Yeti Loadout GoBox 30 Gear Case that we reviewed here today?… Overall, I believe this toolbox is a hit at an MSRP of $250. Some people might gripe that $250 is a lot of money, but in hindsight, I wish the $50 I spent on my original toolbox (now broken and thrown in the trash) had been applied to something of higher quality like the Yeti Loadout GoBox. If you want a tough and rugged toolbox that’ll withstand all of the craziness your busy life throws at it, I highly recommend the Yeti Loadout GoBox. You will love it.

In closing, I want to say thank you to Yeti for allowing AllOutdoor and myself the opportunity to try out their Yeti Loadout GoBox 30 Gear Case. That is greatly appreciated. Also, we would like to know what all of you guys and gals think? Do you believe that the Yeti Loadout GoBox 30 Gear Case is something worth spending your money on while scouting, hunting, or simply recreating in the outdoors with friends? As always, let us know all of your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
