[ICAST 2023] Tsunami’s New Waterproof Reel – The SALTX II

The folks over at Tsunami have brought out their second completely waterproof reel this year to ICAST. The new Tsunami SALTX II took everything they learned from the original SALTX reel from 4 years ago and reworked it into an even better reel for dunking in the surf. The new SALTX II now comes with 19 seals to keep water out of the reel. The body and rotor are machined out of A6061 aluminum, while the main gear and pinion are made of stainless steel. One of the more interesting features of the reel is the bail spring for the titanium bail. It is a fully sealed bail spring, which often is an overlooked feature. The reel handle can be swapped to either side for both a left or right-handed retrieve. The SALTX II will be available in 4 sizes, starting from a 3000 up to an 8000-size spinning reel. MSRP starts at $399.99 and goes up to $459.99.
