The original Mk12 Mod 0 needs no introduction for AR enthusiasts. Designed as an SPR (Special Purpose Rifle) the original Mk12 chambered in 5.56 NATO gave rifle squads in the US Military a more accurate platform with magazine and ammo commonality with their squad mates, stretching the effective range of the .223 caliber cartridge to 700 meters. This new Mk12 Mod 0 Heavy from Precision Reflex Inc is nothing short of just plain cool. Utilizing a matched billet receiver set, thermal fit Douglas barrel, and of course being chambered in the venerable .308 Winchester cartridge, this is a rifle I can see myself happily using for hunting wild boar or target shooting. I’ve personally been watching this rifle since it was first shown off a few short years ago as a preproduction prototype, and I am excited to say, is now available.
[NRAAM 2025] PRI Mk12 goes HEAVY – 308 AR
PRI 308 version of the Mark 12 Mod 0 in 308 Cal. This is a matched billet upper with an 18″ Douglas barrel with the SPR contour to accept AE brake and collar. The barrel is a thermal fit to the receiver. The rifle comes with a Rifle length DPMS carbon fiber forearm and full length straight top rail, flip up front sight that works with the PRI flip us rear sight and a Tool craft Nitrite BCG. The rifle comes with the PRI Gas Buster® charging handle with big latch. The lower is comes with a 308 A2 stock with rifle length buffer and spring, Velocity 3.5lb. Drop in trigger. Rifle weight 10.3Lbs. Overall length 39.5″.
The Rifle package comes with the following items:
- The upper and lower receiver are T6 7075 billet receivers
- Barrel is a Douglas 18″ with SPR contour 1-10 twist and M118 chamber, 5/8 x 24 threads.
- Rifle length DPMS carbon fiber forearm with standard rail set up.
- PRI Flip Up Front Sight gas block combination with cross bolts.
- AE brake and collar for 30cal suppressor.
- Full length straight top rail that connects the receiver directly to the forearm.
- PRI flip up rear sight.
- PRI Gas Buster® Charging Handle with Military Latch.
- Tool craft nitrite bolt carrier group.
- Velocity trigger 3.5 pound drop in trigger group.
- PRI rifle case.
The PRI Mk12 Mod 0 Heavy is shipping now with a 4-5 week lead time and carrying an MSRP of $3,350. Keep in mind these are not mass production rifles assembled by your average line worker, PRI rifles are subject to a level of QC and hand fitting that few other companies can match and are built using high spec components, bringing together one of the nicest AR platform rifles money can buy.
