Mossberg Intoduces New Line of .22 LR Blaze Rifles, Including an AK-47 Lookalike

Mossberg introduced a new line of .22 LR semi-auto rifles at the 2015 SHOT Show. The Blaze line of rifles have polymer receivers and either polymer or wood furniture. While the extensive use of plastic may offend purists, the result is a light, handy, plinker.

There are 12 models in the line in two basic styles with a variety of finishes. All have 16.5″ barrels.

The more traditional Blaze rifles have standard type furniture and a choice of Black, Muddy Girl, Kryptek Highlander, or Wildfire finishes. Fiber optic sights are standard in most models except for the Dead Ringer Green Dot Sight model, which comes with a receiver rail and holographic sight. A Youth/Compact model with a reduced length of pull is available for younger shooters. All models use 10 or 25 round detachable magazines, although the magazine size supplied with the rifle varies by model. The standard models weigh in about 3 1/2 pounds

The standard and Youth/Compact models have a MSRP of $187 while the Dead Ringer Green Dot Sight model has a MSRP of $252.

The Blaze 47 versions replicate the look of the military AK-47 rifles with either adjustable black synthetic stocks or fixed wood stocks. These models ship with the 25 round curved magazine, which adds to the “AK look.” The Blaze 47 synthetic stock version weighs 4 1/4 pounds with a MSRP of $329, while the Blaze 47, wood version weighs 4 3/4 pounds with a MSRP of $375.
