Doves and Rice

This is a great way to make good use of leftover doves, no matter how they were cooked. Just take the meat off the bones and chop it or shred it. The red curry powder gives the dish a wonderful flavor!


  •  1 can French onion soup
  • ½ soup can water
  • 1 ½ soup cans instant rice
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon red curry powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 cup cooked dove, shredded or chopped
  • 3 tablespoons real bacon bits

Directions: Combine soup, water, rice, butter, and dry seasonings in a microwave-safe dish. Cook on high for three minutes. Remove and stir in dove meat and bacon bits. Cook for two additional minutes. Allow to rest for five minutes before serving.

Tips: For a heartier dish, add more meat. For a spicier dish, add diced jalapeno.
