Diamondback Micro-Compact Pistols Available with LaserLyte Sights

LaserLyte, a well-established company that makes interesting, innovative, and more-affordable laser products for firearms, has teamed up with Diamondback Firearms to provide a pistol package. Both companies make their products in the USA.

According to the Diamondback website, they teamed with Crimson Trace in 2010 to create the DB380CTC (micro-compact DB380 equipped with a Crimson Trace laser). The LaserLyte model DB380LL promises a similar product at a considerably lower MSRP ($654.95 for the CTC vs. $469.76 for the LL).

The LaserLyte deal also adds a 9mm to the list of Diamondback pistols with factory-equipped lasers, and personally, I much prefer a 9mm over a 380.

Laser sights are very useful, especially in high-stress, close-range self-defense situations. At the range, a laser can help you get your sights on target quickly and can help reveal problems with your shooting, such as grip or trigger pull.

The LaserLyte TGL UTA-DB laser fits the gun’s frame and trigger guard “seamlessly,” and can be removed easily should you want to do so. It’s being included with certain DB380 and DB9 pistols in Black Poly.

The laser is made of glass filled nylon and aircraft grade aluminum, has two modes (constant or pulse), and automatically turns off after 6 minutes to save the batteries.

Speaking of batteries, it takes three small 392 batteries. Here are some more specs:

  • Power Output: 650NM, 5MW, Class IIIA
  • Programmable: Dual mode constant on and pulse, auto-off in 6 minutes
  • Batteries: 3 x 392
  • Battery Life: Actual use 5 hours constant on, 10 hours pulse mode
  • Weight: 0.75 ounces/0.0213 kg
  • Material: 55% Glass Filled Nylon and Aircraft Grade 6061 aluminum
  • Length: 1.52 inches/3.86 cm
  • Width: 0.76 inches/ 1.93 cm
  • Height: 1.70 inches/4.32 cm
