Hear Tam’s “Fun Show Song”

Tamara Keel at “View From the Porch” has been sharing her wit and snark with the gun blog-o-sphere for over 10 years. One of her traditions is to post lyrics from her “Fun Show Song” as part of her gun show AAR’s.

Here’s the first verse, to the tune of “A few of my favorite things,” from “A Sound of Music.”

Flintlocks and Flop-tops
And Number Three Russians
Black-powder Mausers
From jackbooted Prussians,
Shiny Smith PC’s from limited runs
These are a few of my favorite guns.

(Go to her blog for the complete lyrics.)

While many of us have begged Tam to record the whole song, she’s always demurred so we’ve always had to imagine how the song would sound.

We have to imagine no more: As a Christmas present Kelly Grayson, who blogs as “Ambulance Driver,” recruited Bonnie from “Squeaky Wheel Seeks Grease” to record the song and posted the results on YouTube. Since Bonnie is a classically trained singer, the result is amazing.
