Have you ever wondered “exactly” why the people have the right to keep and bear arms? Surely life would be fine if only the government and police had firearms?
Right?
Various gun control groups preach that only the government should have guns. Let’s take them at their word, and only the government should have guns.
Now then, take few minutes and let this sink in – The President of Venezuela is arming 400,00 loyalists.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said he will expand the number of civilians involved in armed militias, providing guns to as many as 400,000 loyalists.
The announcement came as Maduro’s opponents are gearing up for what they pledge will be the largest rally yet to press for elections and a host of other demands Wednesday.
In other words, those who are loyal to the current regime will be armed by the government.
Those who oppose the regime will not be armed by the government.
When the government controls the ownership of firearms, only those people the government approved can own guns. In the case of Venezuela, only people who are loyal to the government are to be armed.
The American right to keep and bear arms ensures the government can not favor certain groups over others, like what is happening in Venezuela.
This is why the people have the right to keep and bear arms. It takes the control of arms away from the government and places it in the hands of the voters, where it belongs.
