Watch: Making a Solid-Steel Bow From an Old Leaf Spring

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, someone decides to use a lifetime supply of cutoff wheels to craft a compound bow from an old steel vehicle spring.

I didn’t get very far into the vid before I had to mute the sound, those tools get annoying.

It really didn’t take all that much work, and of course I was kidding about how many cutoff wheels it takes, and in the end he’s got a heck of a bow. Definitely a lot better than what you could whittle out of a tree limb!

Recycling the hardware off an ancient compound bow was a good idea…

Enjoy.
