Armed Grandma Shoots Home Invader

A grandmother in Arizona reportedly used a handgun in her home to shoot a crook who barged in and attempted to rob her.

Answering a knock on the door one evening, she was confronted by a 42-year-old man who stormed into her home demanding money. When she refused, he grabbed her by both arms. That’s when the woman’s husband came in and took over the fight.

As her husband fought with [the miscreant], the woman grabbed a handgun and told him to leave again. He refused and came toward her, so she shot him several times, detectives said. [The bad guy] lingered for a bit after being shot, but then left in a getaway car.

The woman had minor injuries from the struggle.

Deputies later found [the crook] collapsed at a nearby home. He was taken to a nearby hospital. He was released from the hospital on Monday and booked into jail.

[He] is facing a slew of charges, including robbery, criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct, and burglary.

Too bad we taxpayers will be paying his hospital bill, but I’m sure glad granny had a gun and the guts to use it.
