TARA TM-9 Striker-Fired Polymer Frame Pistol Surfaces In Canada

What you see here is not a Glock, nor is it a Glock clone from Turkey. It’s a pistol called the TM-9, made by TARA Aerospace & Defense Products from a small European country called Montenegro.

It’s an affordable striker-fired, polymer frame semi-auto pistol chambered in 9mm. It has a low bore axis of 22mm (.866″) and it features their unique DARE (Double Action Rapid Engagement) trigger. It works like a double-action trigger — if the 9mm round failed to ignite after a trigger press, you can press the trigger again without having to rack the slide. This pistol does not require the operator to squeeze the trigger during disassembly.

Trigger weight is long and heavy at about 6 pounds but it has a good reset travel. It features white 3-dot sights and the slide serration provides good purchase. While it has an ambidextrous safety, the slide release is not ambi. There is no interchangeable back strap, but if the manufacture were to incorporate it, it would increase the cost.

It also carries a NATO stock number (NSN) 1005-77-000-0001.

It will begin to ship to dealers in the next few days with a MSRP of $375 CAD. Actual retail price will likely be lower. This will be an excellent beginner pistol as a new Glock 17 Gen5 9mm in Mexico North is $780 CAD.
