Gamakatsu the industry leader in fresh and saltwater hooks and other terminal tackle has introduced their new line of Power Drop hooks. the Power Drop is a perfectly engineered way to keep a variety of soft plastic baits just off the bottom and responsive. Making sure your bait stays visible and flawlessly performs in the strike zone.
The Power Drop series of hooks are built around a solid ring. On the ring, there is a premium hook, a swivel, and a 3.5-inch flexible dropper wire. The Power Drop series design results in your bait being presented naturally just above the bottom, great for softer bottom, grass, or a leaf layer. This small gap off the bottom allows for better hooksets on any predatory fish, letting them inhale your bait easily.
The Power Drop is simple to use, rig it and then cast it out. Once it reaches the bottom just fish it the same as you would a traditional texas rig, jig, or punch bait. The flexible dropper wire can be adjusted so you can choose how you want to present the bait, longer if theres a thick layer of mud and silt, or shorter if you want to hug the bottom more. Just choose a weight that you want, run the wire through it and bend the wire around to secure the weight. You can even try using two smaller weights together for an increased sound presence. These will come in three different models, all featuring a different premium Gamakatsu hook.
