POTD: Old West Fun – Smith & Wesson New Model No. 3 Target Revolver

Welcome to today’s Photo of the Day! Here we have some good old-west fun. This is a Smith and Wesson New Model No 3 Target Revolver. The Smith and Wesson No 3 is often referred to as the Schofield revolver. This bleeds over to the updated version which is the New Model No 3. The New Model No 3 was updated with better sights and more importantly, a much more comfortable saw handle grip. the original Smith and Wesson No 3 had a smooth swooped back grip like a Colt Single Action Army. This New Model Target Revolver seems to be equipped with a unique rib much like one that is found on a shotgun. it is also notably paired with target sights.
